THE DANCE AFRIQUE

The Dance Afrique convention is an annual community youth initiative developed by Moses Dance Agency (MDA) project aimed at raising dance standards in Africa. The program provides a platform for dancers to showcase their gifts. Interested parties register their participation through a link. Registered parties are invited to attend a series of auditions that culminate in a Mega Dance competition.

Our Purpose

The Dance Afrique awards is a red carpet gala event aimed at recognizing and awarding tremendous contributions by different stakeholders in the dance industry. The public nominates different people who have made an achievement. The nominees are awarded during the gala night.

The event was attached to a greater cause of launching regional dance workshops & activities, preparing a Kenyan dancers’ support base for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and creating a team that shall travel to the world of dance from AUGUST 1ST -20TH AUGUST 2023 to benchmark on enhancing /improving dance standards that shall be used to inculcate technical and soft skills to the dance community.

OVERVIEW

The dance competition covered three main rounds, of which: –
Round 1: – was based on individual creativity
Round 2: – was a do or die segment (go hard or go home) the participants who are successful in this segment proceeded to the final round of which out of the 20 crews, 5 proceeded in the senior category, 2 in junior, and 3 in the solo category

Round 3: – Final Round

1. Kimya Kimya (150K cash prize) – awarded by RedBull Kenya
2. The Kings (100k Cash prize)
3. The Wizards (50k cash prize)

Our Sustainanbly Plan Work With Us

Commencing dance tutorial classes in private schools with the winners and the other dance Afrique participating crews; building into an interschool dance competition dubbed “the dance-off” 24th September 2022 at the St. Christophers hall in Karen.

OTHER SUSTAINABILITY-BASED PROGRAMS INCLUDE;-

1. Dance activations for brands in conjunction with marketing and events agencies
2. Dance Entertainment at musical events and festivals
3. Certification of dance fitness instructors in partnership with the Nairobi Zoezi Institute; this will ensure the credibility of trainers being produced in the market.
